Christian Marclay: 25 years later

The innovative artist Christian Marclay’s traveled and expanded his already broadly interconnective work since we met I witnessed him booed at the American Music festival, LA, 1986. I thought at the time the audience was crazy, after all the PURPOSE of the festival’s was to present NEW MUSIC. I bought two of his RECORD WITHOUT A SLEEVE from a a table stacked with the black discs outside the show. They’ve appreciated nicely!

The Whitney Museum was very accomodating. The piece survived 10 hours, till opening time July 2nd. Light foot traffic suggests it might have lasted days but it was swept up that afternoon.
